The Knowledge Exchange

The Knowledge Exchange (TKE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a clear and compelling purpose: to close opportunity gaps in education by providing equitable, holistic, and inclusive learning experiences for youth and adult learners. Our organization was established to ensure that every individual—regardless of background, ability, or income—has access to high-quality education, enrichment, and community-based learning that fosters lifelong success.

We exist because traditional educational models often overlook students who need more adaptive, creative, and personalized approaches—particularly neurodivergent learners, those with IEPs/504 plans, students from under-resourced communities, and adults seeking second-chance education. TKE fills this need with services that are evidence-based, flexible, and rooted in empathy.

We offer our in-person services at public locations like libraries, community spaces, coffee shops etc. We conduct in-home sessions on a case-by-case basis.

Services include:

  • Tutoring: K-12 and adult tutoring sessions 1:1 or small groups.
  • Enrichments: alternative learning opportunities to fill SEL, life skills and STEM needs.

The Knowledge Exchange is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation founded in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Business Review

I absolutely love this organization! My daughter has been with them since August, and her tutor takes the time to get to know her. She not only tutors her but also connects with her, which is what Leya loves the most. Additionally, TKE provides free tutoring services for families in need. This service can be in-person or virtual. With my busy life, I opted for virtual sessions for Leya. If your child needs extra support in math, literacy, or any other subject, please register today. You won't be disappointed. This is available for Elementary to Jr. high students only. Open to out-of-state residents as well!

I utilized The Knowledge Exchange to help my son work on study skills. The subject they worked on with him specifically was 10th grade history and he had an F when he started and now, he has a high B and has more confidence in his abilities. We worked with Jess and my son really understood her teaching style and comprehended the way she taught the information better than his history teacher. I would highly recommend utilizing their services. I'm sure they would be great in any subject you may need help in developing.

My son found his tribe with TKE's D&D campaign! He has made great friends and looks forward to every session - he is so happy to have found kids just like him. And Ms. Candace is amazing!
